Barbara Lee Brown

Barbara Lee Cunningham Brown, 75 of Concord, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 surrounded by her family. The Brown family will receive friends from 5-7pm Wednesday, October 7, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, 8559 Cook St., Mt. Pleasant. Memorial service will be private. Mrs. Brown was born August 23, 1940 in Given, WV, daughter of the late LeRoy Cunningham, Olive Parsons Cunningham Ely and Donald Ely. As a young lady, Barbara was active in many clubs while she pursued her passion for dance. She went on to become a professional dancer. She attended Marshall University until marrying and beginning her family. She traveled extensively and loved to cook. She was a retired legal assistant with National Gypsum. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Malissa Luther, Brittany Fisher, Josh Mullins, Greyson Allen, Laura Beasley, Jake Beasley, Reese Coble and Race Coble. In addition to her grandchildren she is survived by her husband Charles Brown, son Richard Allen and wife Shawn of Mint Hill, daughters, Angela Smith and husband Doc, Deanna Allen and Beth Hershberger all of Concord, and Laura Coble and husband Garrett, of Indian Trail, brother, Doug Cunningham and wife Cathy of Florida.
