Guestbook

Christie was my first cousin two times removed. Even though we did not get to see her very much we were very fond of her. My sister and my mother and I were flying somewhere in June of 1968. We had a layover in Atlanta so BJ and Ray brought Christie, who was about a week old, to the airport for us to see her. My birthday is 6 days after Christie's. One of my most favorite images of Christie was one I took at her (first) wedding. We were outside the fellowship hall, she was still in her bridal gown and had changed into her sparkly tennis shoes. I caught her reared back with a football in her hand getting ready to pitch it to Craig. I called this image "Bridal Toss". I have to say, Christie was the only bride that I ever saw tossing football while waiting on the reception. We are going to miss her terribly but I am sure she will have everything engineered up just right when she gets settled in heaven. Our sincerest condolences to BJ, Scott, Craig and all the family.

Dan, Daniel and Pam Heidtke send our deepest condolences to the family. Her sons were lucky to have a mother as special as she was, we always enjoyed sharing a bleacher at basketball games with her. Christie was always a shining star wherever she went. Praying for comfort and peace in the coming months for the family.

I enjoyed many years of serving with Christie in the NC Chapter of the American Public Works Association. She was always fun to be around and very friendly. If you have ever been hugged by Christie, you know you've been hugged. She loved everyone and enjoyed outdoing guys on the golf course, quite competitive. She will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace my friend. May God grant the family strength and peace during this difficult time and may you dwell on fond memories of this special lady.

I only really got to see Christie once a year at Thanksgiving when her mother organized a family lunch at what was the home church for many of us in Greeneville,TN. What always struck me about my cousin Christie was her gentle and fun disposition and she was always a delight to talk to and of course raised 3 great boys. We will all miss you Christie.
