Cletus Hurlocker

Mr. Cletus Lee Hurlocker, 73 of Lentz Harness Shop Rd., Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be 4:00pm Thursday at Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ officiated by Rev. Terri Barringer and Rev. Bobby Bonds, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Hurlocker family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Hurlocker was born September 25, 1937 in Stanly County son of the late Charlie Hurlocker and Nora Shipton Hurlocker. He was retired from Cummin Diesel with 45 years of service. He was a member of Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ. He was a former member of Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department and a former Chief of Northeast Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by a grandson Adam Trull. He is survived by his wife Faye Eury Hurlocker, daughters, Lisa Smithka and Loretta Hurlocker, brother, Claude Hurlocker of Raleigh. Grandchildren Tiffany Lowery, Robert Trull and Shane Caudill and five great grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ, 18937 Bear Creek Church Rd., Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124

My first day at Cummins I worked with Cletus,this was in June 1963.He was a great person to get to know & work with. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.take care & God Bless.

Cletus has been part of my life for so many years and I will greatly miss him. He was a friend to me personally and to all of us here at Cummins. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hurlocker family.
