Hazel Lentz

Hazel Lentz, age 89, resident of Harrisburg, NC went to be home with Jesus on April 3, 2011. She was born November 24, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant, NC. Hazel was an incredible woman of the faith and exemplified this by being a godly mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. She had a deep love for her family, church, and community. Her home was known by many as a place of prayer and each of us have been touched by the life she lived. Thank you mother for the legacy of faith you left for your family. Abiding in this life are two of her sisters: Helen Allen and Margret Poplin; her children Kenneth (Eloise) Lentz and Ellen (Rick) Barnhardt; Grandchildren; Jamie Barnhardt, Sumer Smith, Tiffany Sanburg, Steve Lentz, Jordan Shelton and Lauren Lentz; Great Grandchildren; Lake, Easton and Macey Sanburg, Hananiah and Aubrey Smith, Jane and Charley Lentz and Julius Shelton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lentz: two sisters, Madelene Neal and France Ritch; and two brothers, Robert and Jerry Smith. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Harvest Community Church, (4284 Orphanage Rd, Concord, NC) on April 9, 2011 at 11:30am by Pastor Jeff Burris. The family will receive friends from 10:30am until 11:30am before the service. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Lentz requested that memorials be made to Camp Courtney. Please send gifts to Camp Courtney, 1344 N. Allen Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792 and designate in the check memo "in honor of Hazel Lentz". Camp Courtney held a very special place in Hazel's heart because of the life transformation her children and grandchildren received there.
