Lorraine Fodell Robertson Dobson

Lorraine Fodell Robertson Dobson, 94, of Concord, formerly of Raleigh,  passed away Sunday May 13, 2018 at her home.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 17 at First Presbyterian Church of Concord, 70 Union St., N., the Reverends Peter Bynum and Ken Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Snow Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, 745 Snow Creek Rd. Statesville, NC. The Dobson family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 until 1:45 at the church Fellowship House.

Lorraine was born in Iredell County on March 17, 1924 to the late B.C. Robertson and Hazel York Robertson. She was a graduate of Catawba College and during her life she was a teacher and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, painting, collecting antiques and doing things for others. She was very proud of her grandchildren and kept volumes of pictures and memories of the family. She was also a huge fan of big band music. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Betty Jo Giddens and brother Bill Robertson of Cool Springs, NC.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lolo A. Dobson of Concord; a son L. Allen Dobson, Jr. and wife Martha of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren Robert Dobson and wife Angela of Mt. Pleasant, Elizabeth Dobson Jones and husband Patrick of Cary, Sara Dobson of Raleigh; and great-granddaughter Kayleigh Dobson of Mt. Pleasant.
