Martha Rose Harkey

Martha Rose Page Harkey, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Woodhaven Assisted Living, Albemarle. Graveside service will be 11:00am Monday; at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Sam Mailleue. Rose was born December 16, 1940 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Ernest J. Page and Mamie Sue Creed Page. She was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. She was a former teacher at St. John’s playschool, and then she started babysitting for children in the Mt. Pleasant area. She also enjoyed crafts, baking and gardening. She is survived by her husband, Paul Harkey; sons Tim Harkey (Charlene), Daniel Harkey (Karen) and Chris Harkey (Lori); daughter, Debra Cobden; sisters, Jane Furr and Sue Smith, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 9400 Gold Hill Rd., Mt. Pleasant, NC
