Michael Alan Hobbs

The world lost an incredible son, brother, and friend on October 8, 2015 as Michael Alan Hobbs passed away. Michael Hobbs was born in Concord, North Carolina. As a young boy, Michael built impressive Lego creations, annihilated level after level on video games, and tormented his sister. As a young man, Michael graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. After that, he continued to hone various trades and skills. He spent his days cooking delicious meals, spending time with his cats, and living life to the fullest. Michael was an incredible young man that brought laughter to all who knew him. He had a heart of gold, and he graciously helped anyone in need. Michael is survived by his parents, Dave and Nancy Hobbs and his siblings Heather, Amanda, Nate, and James. In addition to his immediate family, Michael leaves behind other family and friends whom he loved dearly. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Gordon’s Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to a local animal shelter or adopting an abandoned kitten or two.

Guestbook

My sympathy and prayers go out to the family of Michael. It breaks my heart to lose him so young. When I taught "Hobbs," he prided himself on pushing my buttons and asking those challenging questions that never occurred to his classmates nor me, for that matter. He would grin and say, "Aw, Mrs. Dixon, you know you love me." Yes, Hobbs, I absolutely did.

Michael, The world has lost a beautiful soul. You could always make me laugh. I still laugh when I think of you describing your Graduation Project product. If I close my eyes, I can see your smiling face in my classroom. I pray your death is not in vain. Rest in peace, Darcey Tomasino

Too soon was this son, brother, friend taken. Michael lit up the room with his smiles and jokes. Loved everyone he came in contact with and was very compassionate. Loved family and life! He will be missed but never forgotten. In our hearts he will be forever. He now joins his mother Annie, grandparents and great grandmother. God Bless

I hope that in due time you receive Gods peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. As you know, God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. Rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture is Psalm 34:18 which reads: Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves. Sincerely.
