Nell Elizabeth Safrit

Nell Elizabeth Furr Safrit, 84, of Morehead City, formerly of Concord, passed away August 31, 2017 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.

In her earlier years, Nell was employed by Shuford’s Insurance Company of Concord. She then enjoyed the rest of her life as a homemaker. She was a loving mother and a caretaker of her husband in his later years.

She is survived by her son, Glenn W. Safrit Jr. and his wife, Shelley of Morehead City; two grandsons, Samuel and Jesse Safrit of Morehead City; brother, James Furr of Concord.

She was preceded in death by her father, Brevard Aaron Furr, her mother, Meta Olivia Furr; husband, Glenn White Safrit Sr.; two brothers, Bob Furr and Alan Furr.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Concord with Rev. Dr. Mark Ericson officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00am, one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the  Church Cemetery.
