Rachel Bost Harrison

Rachel Bost Harrison 75 of Concord passed away Wednesday May 8th at her residence.

Funeral service will be 3:00pm Saturday, May 11 at Bethel (Bear Creek) Reformed Church, officiated by Rev. Patrick McCabe, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Harrison family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm Saturday at the Church prior to the funeral.

Rachel was born September 7, 1943 in Cabarrus County the daughter of the late Gilmer L. Bost and Lillie Shoe Bost. Rachel was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and Concord Beauty College in 1961. She was a member of Bethel (Bear Creek) Reformed Church, she sang in the choir and enjoyed attending the Young at Heart meetings. Rachel was a beautician at Modern Beauty Salon of Concord.

Rachel loved her family and friends from the center of her heart and was always there to help anyone. She was loved and adored by the Harrison family like a sister. Her acts of kindness will be remembered by many and she leaves a legacy that will remain in the hearts of those she touched.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Ogburn and brothers, Herman Bost, Brown Bost and Gilmer Jackson (Jackie) Bost.

She is survived by her husband Warren Harrison of 23 years, daughters DeAnna Fox and husband Jimmy, Tammy Durrant and husband Rodney, Son Jason Smith and sister, Elizabeth Betty Isenhour of Mooresville. Rachel was proud of her 7 grandchildren; Desiree McElrath, McKenzie Kepley, Kristin Durant, Josh Durant, Cortney Durant, Victoria Smith and Patrick Smith and 2 great grandchildren; Tilley McElrath and Kolton Thomas.
