Betty Hartsell Dennis

Betty Lee Hartsell Dennis, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, following several years of living with dementia. She was born in Concord on April 5, 1937, to the late Michael and Bonnie Hartsell.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Lee Dennis, and her siblings Earnie, Kenneth, Lance, Boyce, Jay Lee, Gary, Juanita, Cornelius, and Coleen.

Betty grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from New Salem High School. She began her working years at Cannon Mills in Concord before moving to New Jersey. On October 27, 1963, she married Charlie, the love of her life. Together, they built a life filled with love, companionship, and countless cherished memories.

While living in New Jersey, Betty dedicated 19 years to serving as cafeteria manager for Barnegat Township Schools. She later returned to North Carolina, where she spent 27 years as a suite attendant for the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. Throughout her working years, Betty made many friends and was remembered for her dedication, kindness, and warm personality.

Faith was an important part of Betty’s life. She attended Manahawkin Baptist Church in New Jersey and later Multiply Church in Concord. Her faith was reflected in the way she lived and cared for others.

Betty loved cooking and serving others and had a special gift for making people feel welcome. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and hospitality, where family and friends could always feel at home. She also treasured her time at the beach and the many trips and adventures she shared with Charlie. These moments created memories she and her family would cherish for years to come.

Above all, Betty loved her family. She is survived by her daughter, April, and son-in-law, Mack Sapp; her beloved grandchildren, Bree Sloan (Josh) and Madison Brown (Trey); and her precious great-grandchildren, Peyton, Hollis, and Charlotte, who brought her immeasurable joy.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on October 27, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at Multiply Church Suite 15, 280 Concord Parkway South Concord, North Carolina 28027. The family will receive friends from 3-4:15pm prior to the service.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Hospice and Tucker Hospice House for the loving care, comfort, and support they provided to Betty and her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Betty’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Ln., Kannapolis NC 28081.

Betty will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle kindness, steadfast faith, and devotion to serving others. She had a way of making people feel cared for and welcome, and her love for her family was evident in the many ways she touched their lives. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved, the friendships she formed, and the countless memories she leaves behind.

Though she will be deeply missed, the love Betty shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her life was a blessing, her love was a gift, and her memory will be treasured always.
