Carl Carey Heintz

Carl Carey Heintz, 89 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Friday, November 30 2018, at Bethany Wood Nursing Home in Albemarle.

Funeral service will be 3:00pm Monday, Dec. 3 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Mark Ericson. Burial will follow at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, NC.

The Heintz family will receive friends from 4-6pm Sunday, Dec. 2 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Heintz was born October 23, 1929 in Cabarrus County, son of the late Carl M. Heintz and Merle Lipe Heintz. He was a Mt. Pleasant High School graduate. He was retired from the Charlotte Regional Visitor’s Authority, working at Oven’s Auditorium. He was a Korean War veteran serving the US Air Force, and was awarded the Korean Service Metal, United Nations Service Metal, National Defense Service Metal, and a Good Conduct Metal. He was a lifelong member at St. John’s Lutheran Church, where for many years he helped prepare the church and ran the sound system for Sunday worship. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Newton Heintz.

He is survived by a niece Rhonda M. Earnhardt, great nieces and nephews, Brian Whitley (Tracy), Darian Whitley (Kristin), Everest Fraley, Tommy Morrell, 12 great-great nieces and nephews, one great-great-great niece, one great-great-great nephew.
