Carlton Hobbs

Mr. Carlton Edward Hobbs, 76, of Lambert Rd., Mt. Pleasant died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at CMC-Northeast. Memorial service will be 6:00pm Tuesday, Feb. 8 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. The Hobbs family will receive friends from 5:30-6pm prior to the funeral service. Mr. Hobbs was born January 9, 1935 in Manchester, NH son of the late Clayton G. Hobbs and Margaret Flood Hobbs. He was a Korean War Veteran and proudly served his country in the US Army for 30 years. A member of the American Legion and the DAV and was a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed the outdoors, reading, drawing and his cats. He is survived by his family that he dearly loved, wife Gudrun Umhauer Hobbs, son, David Hobbs of Rockwell, daughters, Debbie H Recob of Centennial, CO and Patricia Johansson of Loveland, CO, grandchildren, Heather Hobbs, Michael Hobbs, Scott McFarland, Amber Kendall, Andrew Recob and David Recob, one great grandchild Jonas Kendall, brothers Leonard and Russell Hobbs of NH, sisters, Barbara Farmer of VA and Cathy LaPre of AZ. In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to DAV Chapter 27, PO Box 224, Concord, NC 28025 or the American Cancer Society.
