Charlie Douglas Efird

Charlie Douglas “Doug” Efird, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Sunday, September 3, 2023 at his residence.

Doug was born September 23, 1947 in Rowan County, son of the late Charlie W. Efird and Madie Bost Efird. Doug liked to work with his hands, especially woodworking. He also found great joy in time spent outdoors, fishing and shooting. He also loved Alaska and enjoyed all the time he spent there.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Whitaker Efird; son Doug Efird (Kristin); daughter Diana Efird (Mark); brothers Dwight Efird (Sana) and Dennis Efird (Tiffany); sister Dixie Efird; granddaughters, Amber Efird and Alex Efird-Darnell (Stone).
