Clifton Allen Jones

Clifton Allen Jones, 59, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Carolina's HealthCare System-Main in Charlotte. His family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Gordon Funeral Home, 8559 Cook Street, Mt. Pleasant. A Mecklenburg County native, Allen was born Sept. 11, 1956, to the late Donald Ray Jones and Evelyn Payne Jones. He was predeceased by a brother, Chris Jones, and a half-brother, Greg Jones. A high school graduate and the owner/operator of a long-distance trucking service, he was known on the road by his CB handle, Longhorn. To Allen, his family meant the world to him and for them, he was the love of their lives. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, football and racing he also like spending time with his dog Zeus. Allen is survived by his wife, Donna Greenway Jones, a clerk at the Mt. Pleasant ABC Store; two sons, Christopher Allen Jones and Clifton Adam Jones; grandchildren, Noah Adam and Abigail Iris Jones; a sister, Terri (Turry) Jones Pruitt; a step-sister, Kathy Smith; two step-brothers, Michael Smith and Vennie Smith; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hildreth; brother-in-law, Keith Greenway; a favorite aunt, Donna Stowe; close friends, Eric and Donna Pigford and Debbie Parker; and many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
