Daisy Kathleen Hartsell

Daisy Kathleen Shoe Hartsell, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at Brian Center of Concord after a period of declining health. A celebration of Daisy’s life will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Gordon Funeral Home, with her grandson, Pastor Josh Eudy, officiating. The family will receive friends at beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. A native of Cabarrus County, Daisy was born on Dec. 23, 1926, the only daughter of Howard Shoe and Ada Rice Shoe. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Earl Shoe, and her husband, Robert D. Hartsell, who died in 1991. In her working life, Daisy was employed as a spinner for Kindley Yarns of Mt. Pleasant. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, growing and arranging flowers, and baking and decorating cakes. She was a member of Glorieta Baptist Church. Daisy is survived by three daughters, Kay H. Wilkerson (Carl) of Concord; Debbie H. Eudy (John) of Albemarle; and Carla Sheppard (Tim) of Charlotte; one son, Bobby Hartsell of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren, Dawn, Crystal, Josh, Justin and Glorie; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and her dog, Cujie.
