David Chadwick Lykins

David Chadwick Lykins, 49, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, March 1, 2023 at his residence.

The family will be hosting a gathering to celebrate his life Saturday afternoon March 11, 2023 from 3-5pm at his brother Josh’s home, 9098 Mount Olive Rd, Mount Pleasant NC, 28124.

Chad was born April 5, 1973 in Hazard, KY, son of the late David Lykins and Dixie Duff Lykins Martin. Chad was known for his football abilities throughout school, and played at Wingate University. He was an excellent football coach, and changed the lives of many athletes at the Mt. Pleasant Youth Athletics Association. He enjoyed history, loved to read, and had a love for animals, especially his dog Mac.

He is survived by his daughter Aleah Lykins of Wilmington; a brother Josh (Lynsey) Martin, of Mt. Pleasant; niece Laleigh Martin and nephew Gabriel Martin, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chad was a friend to all who knew him, and his big heart lives on through his daughter, niece, nephew, and younger cousins who always looked up to him.
