Dolan Edward Cauble entered this world on January 22, 1949, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, and departed peacefully on December 23, 2025. Throughout his 76 years, he embodied what it meant to be family—a steadfast husband, devoted father, adoring grandfather, and faithful brother.
A member of Oak Grove Methodist Church, Dolan found joy in life's simple pleasures. With a fishing rod in hand, grease under his fingernails while working on cars, or his favorite songs filling the air, he savored each moment. Dolan had a unique wit that led him to speak out humorous phrases impromptu, and with the arrival of his grandchildren, this playful spirit only grew stronger. His grandchildren, Amber Johnson (Hunter) and Jonathan McCormac, knew him as "Poppop," a role he treasured, and though he never met his great-grandchildren, Jace and Macy Johnson, his love for them would have known no bounds.
Dolan was married to the love of his life for 59 years, Sandra James Cauble. Together they raised their only child, Michelle McCormac (Kevin), whom he affectionately called his "Baby Girl." Dolan's memory lives on through his brothers Jerry Cauble (Brenda), Sam Cauble (Gail), and Terry Cauble (Robyn).
He now reunites with those who went before him completely healed with a glorified body: his parents, J.W. Cauble and Marie Furr Cauble, and his brothers Tony, John, and Tim.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Dolan's life on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Oak Grove Methodist Church, 32056 Herrin Grove Rd., Mount Pleasant, NC. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a memorial service following at 3:00 PM. His family will fulfill his wishes by scattering his ashes at a later date.
