Doris Jane Hamrick

Doris Helms Hamrick, 81 of Concord, passed away, Thursday, April 6, at the Tucker Hospice House. A celebration of life service will be 2:00pm Saturday, April 8, at Gordon Funeral Home officiated by her son Prophet Timothy Scott Hamrick and grandson Pastor Justin Lee Hamrick. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The Hamrick family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm prior to the service. Doris was born February 13, 1936 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late John Van Helms and Veda Medlin Helms. She faithfully watched and listened to her son's ministry, O.B.E.Y Ministry. She was retired from Kiser-Roth Hosiery Mill with 27 years of service. She loved reading the Bible and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by brothers, Rev. Carl Helms, Rev. W.M. Helms, Rev. Lee Helms, Clifford Helms, Rev. Earl Helms and Robert Helms and a sister Faye H. McClellan. Doris is survived by her husband Billy Hamrick, Sr.; sons, Billy P Hamrick, Jr., Van Keith Hamrick and Scott Hamrick; daughter, Susan Hamrick Fink; sister, Ruth Nelson; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
