Doris Shinn

Mrs. Doris Stancil Shinn, 75 of Mt. Pleasant Rd., N., died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at her residence. Funeral service will be 11:00am Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant officiated by Rev. Gary Chapman, burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Shinn family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Shinn was born October 2, 1937 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late Martin Luther Stancil, Sr. and Tillie Lou Green Stancil. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she was a very active member, serving the social and bereavement committee and former Sunday School Teacher and Treasury. She was the secretary for Shinn's Refrigeration. She was preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Barrier. She is survived by her husband Donald Shinn, daughters, Sherree Grimstead and husband Mike of Cornelius and Lori Williams and husband Tommy of Lake Butler, FL, brother, Martin Stancil, Jr. and wife Joyce of Kannapolis, sister Edna Morrison of Midland, grandchildren, Ashley Rhoades, Caleb and Clint Williams great grandchildren, Levi and Will.
