Doris Cline Wade

Doris Cline Wade, 86, of Burlington,  died on August 18, 2022, at Coble Creek Healthcare, Twin Lakes Community, Burlington, NC.   Born in Concord, NC to Joseph Paul and Bessie Fink Cline, she was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and a lifelong homemaker.  She was a loving and giving person, and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Doris volunteered in several communities for Meals on Wheels, memory care centers, hospital and cancer centers, Girl Scouts, school events, and church events, among others.  She served others selflessly and welcomed everyone into her home and life.  She enjoyed feeding and caring for others and her cooking was legendary.

Doris is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack Wade, two daughters, Linda (Steve) Nye of Eden, NC, Dawn (Peter) Adams of Salem, Oregon, brother, Ned (Linda) Cline of Burlington NC, three grandchildren, Ben Adams, Meredith Adams, and Meredith Ann Rich, and many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at the May-Foley Chapel on the campus of Twin Lakes Community on Thursday, August 25 at 2:00 pm.  A celebration of her life and interment will be held on Saturday, August 27 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Concord, NC.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Authoracare Collective (Hospice), 914 Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington NC 27215, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
