Gary Alan Manus

Gary Alan Manus, 65, of Rockwell, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at Atrium Health Northeast in Concord.

A celebration of Gary’s life will begin at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Boger Reformed Church, officiated by Todd Davis. The Manus family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service, until 6:30pm.

Gary was born in Cabarrus County on July 29, 1953, to Kenneth Lee Manus and Ruby Faggart Manus, who predeceased him. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Richfield.

A 1971 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Gary held an associate’s degree from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. He enjoyed his work as a long-time motor-grader operator with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. When not behind the controls of the big machines, he enjoyed fishing and playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, together for 23 years, Sheree Boger Manus; a son, Kyle Manus (Ashley); a daughter, Mary M. Cress (Brad); three step-children, Chris Posey (Donnielle), Jeremy Posey (Peyton) and Olivia P. Lambert (Markus); a brother, Keith Manus (Mary Beth); and four grandchildren, Ruby, Lily, Ainsley and August.
