Geraldine Rosemary Hendee

Geraldine “Geri” Rosemary Timson Hendee, 74, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at CHS Northeast. A celebration of Geri’s life will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, March 17, at her church, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist, 1260 S. College St. Mt. Pleasant NC 28124, with the Rev. Bruce Gwyn officiating. Her family will receive friends between 4:30 and 6 p.m. at the church sanctuary. A native of Broome County, NY, Geri was born Sept. 8, 1942, to John Timson and Josephine Zaicek Timson. In addition to her parents, Geri was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ronald Clark Hendee who died Nov. 27, 2011. Geri devoted her life to child care and last enjoyed that passion at All-Star Learning in New London. Geri lived her faith, starting each morning with a devotional reading that set her course for the day. She enjoyed gardening, the company of her dogs and volunteering at the food ministry. Geri is survived by two daughters, Laurie Harvell of Concord; Linda Benson (Rob) of Cary, NC; three grandchildren, Clark Harvell (Lawrenn) , Emma Benson and Megan Benson; two sisters, Rosemary Studer of Binghamton, NY, and Pearl “Cookie” Miller (Lanny) of Las Vegas, NV; and one brother, John Timson (Phyllis) of Waxhaw, also her sister in law Carolyn Frances and husband David of TN.
