Jane Ruth Troutman

Jane Ruth Fink Troutman, 90, of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, died Thursday, May 14th, 2026, peacefully at her home. She was born on June 26, 1935, to William Harry Fink Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Trexler Fink.

At just 6 weeks old, she contracted Polio and spent much of her childhood in and out of the Gastonia Orthopedic Hospital, one of those stays lasting 9 months. Her strength, determination, and resilience shaped the woman she would become.

Jane graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1953 and, during that time, married Master Sergeant James Reuben Troutman, Sr., United States Marine Corps. They shared a devoted life together until his passing in 2000 which included being stationed in Hawaii and California.

A lifelong and active member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Jane lived her faith with devotion. She sang joyfully in the church choir, served on many committees, and was a dedicated member of WELCA for as long as her health allowed.

She served as the Office Manager of the NC Farm Bureau – Concord Office, where she worked faithfully for 20 years before retiring in 1998.

In her free time, Jane enjoyed reading, watching game shows and playing Animal Crossing.

Jane is survived by her children: David Troutman and wife, Chrystal, of Concord; Tom Troutman and friend, Jordice, of Wisconsin; John Troutman and wife, Penny, of Mount Pleasant; and Tammi Troutman Honeycutt and husband, Brian, of Mount Pleasant.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition, she is survived by her sister, Betty F. Eury of Raleigh, North Carolina; her brother, Harry Fink, Jr. (wife Patsy) of Mount Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Jenny Eury of Raleigh, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Master Sergeant James Reuben Troutman, Sr.; her son, James (Jim) Reuben Troutman, Jr.; her daughter, Pamela Jane Troutman Harkey; and her siblings, Charles Lee Fink, Wade Fink, George Fink, and Sarah Mae Fink Tysinger.
