Jeanie Sue Hoover, 67, of Mt. Pleasant, NC, born December 30, 1958, sister, mother, Maw-Maw, and great-grandmother, went home peacefully in her sleep to be with her Savior on February 17, 2026.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Mike Farley officiating. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2 prior to the service.
She loved her family, her friends, and her animals deeply. She treasured tea parties with her grandchildren, delighted in celebrating their birthdays, and enjoyed cooking for her family — whether for holidays or just any day of the week. She was always taking care of her family and never missed an opportunity to make those she loved feel special. An avid gardener, she found joy tending to her freshly grown food and working in the yard. Summer days often meant homemade ice cream and laughter shared with family. She carried a playful spirit and a heart full of love.
She dedicated many years of service to companies that provided print services for Wells Fargo. Though the company changed several times over the years, her commitment never did. She remained faithfully employed throughout every transition, proud of her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the quality of her work. She retired in 2024 after a long and steady career marked by loyalty and diligence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sue Powles Love and Robert Hoover.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Jean Shackelford (Marvin); four grandchildren, Tiffany Riley (Drew), Haley Shackelford, Kendall Shackelford, and Gabriel Shackelford; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Riley and Charles Riley; one brother, Bobby Hoover; and three sisters, Robin Hoover, Cindy Miller, and Kim Sawyer.
Her family finds comfort knowing she is now at peace, wrapped in the arms of her Savior.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Mt. Pleasant Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 1076, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124.
