Jerry Thomas Long

Jerry Thomas Long, 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away, Saturday, August 29, 2026 at his home.

Jerry was born September 11, 1939 in Mecklenburg County to the late Charlie and Lillie Sanders Long. He proudly served his county for 30 years in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of 1st Sargent. After retiring from the Air Force, Jerry continued working for the Department of Corrections as a prison guard. He was an avid coin collector, enjoyed playing golf and bowling. In addition to his parents, his wife Marilyn Carrol Long a daughter Sonia and a grandson Adam preceded Jerry in death.

Jerry is survived by a daughter Karen; sons, Jerry, Jr., Richard (Cindy) and Daniel (Michelle); 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
