John Parker

John (Jack) F. Parker, New Potato Drive, Kannapolis passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center, NorthEast. There will be no calling hours. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Deborah A. Parker; daughter, Janette M. Brown, Odessa, NY; daughter, Kristen L. Parker, Garner, NC; stepson, John G. Herriman and wife, Meghan, Canandaigua, NY; stepson, Daniel T. Herriman, and wife, Angela, Mt. Pleasant, NC; grandson, Aaron M. Brown,_Odessa, NY; granddaughters, Carie L. Buisch, Watkins Glen, NY and Brooke T. Brown, Odessa, NY; great-grandchildren, Joey A. Brown, Sheode Brown, and Courtney Brown, Odessa, NY; Titus L. Busich and Taryn R. Buisch of Watkins Glen, NY; and granddaughters, Leighanna E. Helms and Jaime L. Herriman, Mt. Pleasant, NC; sister, Eleanor Troy, Binghamton, NY. He is also survived by his former wife, Ruth M. Parker, Lodi, NY. Mr. Parker was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Harold Parker; and aunt, Dorothy Murray. Mr. Parker was born on July 13, 1928, son of Harold and Marion Parker. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in October 1948. He was employed for many years at Binghamton State Hospital (NY) and retired on August 1, 1885 as Institutional Food Administrator of the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office, Newark, NY. He was a former member of the Susquenango Power Squadron (NY) for many years. He was a Life Member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elk (BPOE), serving in several offices, including Exalted Ruler of Lodge #992, Seneca Falls, NY; after relocating to NC in 1997, he became a member of Lodge #699, Salisbury, NC.
