Joyce Benton Allmon

Joyce Benton Allmon, 78, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday January 12, 2021 at her home. A graveside service will be held 3pm Thursday at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Allmon was born November 25, 1942 in Richmond County to the late Marvin and Annie Mae Panky Benton. During her life she worked several jobs including, in a knitting mill, cafeteria staff at daycare and her favorite job as a homemaker. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother taking special care of each member of her family. She also enjoyed yard work and going on walks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Marvin Jr. and Donald Benton; and two sisters Carolyn McPherson and Lois Rinehardt. She is survived by her husband Jimmie Allmon; son Tim Allmon and wife Treva; daughter Karen Stewart and husband Buddy; grandchildren Jeffery and Daniel Stewart, Melia Austin and husband Hunter, and Andrew Allmon; great grandchildren Ahvni and Maverick Austin; and a sister Bonnie Lee.
