Kenneth Ray Layton

Kenneth Ray Layton, 79, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Atrium Health- NE following a brief illness.

Memorial service will be 4:00pm Friday, April 5, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, the Layton family will receive friends following the service until 6:00pm.

Mr. Layton was born August 11, 1939 in Cabarrus County, son of the late Adolphus Layton and Annie Rinehardt Layton. He was a retired brick mason having worked with Harkey Masonry. He enjoyed fishing and going to the beach. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee Thompson Layton.

He is survived by his children, son, Darrell Layton and wife Kay and daughter, Brenda Layton; grandson Tyler Ray Layton and wife Haley and great grandson, Walker Bennett Layton.
