Lannie Currie

Lannie Wayne Currie, 65 of Concord and formerly of Troy, died Friday at Universal Health Care. Funeral service will be 1:30pm Wednesday, November 9, 2011at Gordon Funeral Home, burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 Wednesday prior to the service. Mr. Currie was born March 17, 1946 in Stanly County son of Elizabeth Ann Lambert Deberry and the late Alton Jones Currie. He was a retired Prison Guard at the Piedmont Correctional Institute in Troy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and singing. He was preceded in a son Perry Wayne Currie. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Deberry of Mt. Gilead, daughters, Taska Kluttz of Concord and Lareana Richardson of Corsicana, TX and a brother, Danny Currie of Mt. Gilead, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
