Lawrence Edward Patterson, Jr.

Lawrence Edward “Ed” Patterson, Jr., passed away peacefully at his residence Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Ed was born October 5, 1959 in Altoona, PA, to Mary Steinbrunner and the late “Larry” Patterson, Sr. He worked alongside his brother most of his life in the heating and air industry and was a US Navy Veteran. Family was everything to Ed. He was at every gathering and visited extended family in Pennsylvania often. He deeply enjoyed fishing and anything around the beach, skiing, golfing, and was an avid football and racing fan. Let’s Go Steelers!

Ed was affectionately known as “Uncle Eddie” to his many nieces and nephews, whom he adored and they adored him. From endless summer days at the beach to his favorite Thanksgiving holiday, Uncle Eddie was always the favorite and the epitome of a fun uncle. He made each child feel special and spent time playing in the sand, fishing, and telling tales to bring gales of laughter. His easy smile and quiet, steady presence will be missed endlessly by all who were blessed to know him. Family gatherings will not be the same without his famous fruit salads, clever wit, and funny pranks. He quickly became Uncle Eddie to many other friends and extended family members that will miss him dearly.

Ed is survived by his mother, Mary Steinbrunner; sister, Tracy Patterson Smith (Don); brother, Dennis Patterson (Beverly); nieces, Christen, Amanda and Aime’e; nephew, Neal; great-nieces, Kennedy, Sawyer and Andie; great-nephews; Kade and Holland; and many cousins and others lucky enough to call Ed family and friend.

To all who were dear to Ed, as he would say, “Take it easy.”

A memorial remembrance celebration to honor Ed will be announced at a later date.
