Lee Stephen Foil

Lee Stephen Foil, 71, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Atrium Health - Cabarrus. A memorial service in celebration of Steve's life will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 5 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-2pm. Steve was born February 1, 1949 in Cabarrus County, the eldest son of the late Lawson Foil and Frances Stephenson Foil. He was a member of St. James Reformed Church. Steve was a1967 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and then went on to Appalachian State University where he earned a BS degree in Education. He later earned his Master's degree from North Carolina A&T State University. Steve was an educator at Central Cabarrus High School and also worked with many as a driver's education instructor and tennis coach. Steve also served in the US Navy. He loved all sports and enjoyed watching any and all sports on television. In retirement, Steve spent his time on his family farm with his son, family, and border collie, Cory. He is survived by his son Andy Foil and wife Candice; brother, Warren Foil; grandchildren, Kallie, Katherine and Gabrielle.
