Lilli Koenig Woerner

Lilli Koenig Woerner, born on April 21, 1940, in Karlsruhe, Germany, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Mt. Pleasant NC. Her life is fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

Lilli’s journey began in Karlsruhe, Germany, where she was born to Wilhelm and Frieda Koenig, both of whom predeceased her. From her early years, Lilli embodied values of dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose that guided herthroughout her life. She and her husband Hans emigrated to the United States in 1963. She was married for 62 years until the recent passing of her devoted husband, Hans Woerner.

Over the years, Lilli built a legacy defined by her faith in the Lord Jesus and then to her family with steadfast character, and unwavering pursuit of excellence. She is survived by her son, Michael Woerner (Nancy), and her daughter, Damaris Lanham; grandchildren: Sean-Michael Woerner (Victoria), Lillianna Woerner, Adriana Lanham, and Ali Lanham. Each of them continues to carry forward her values and the enduring influence of her guidance and affection.

Lilli’s life was one characterized by hard work, steadfast commitment and meaningful relationships. Her humor made us all laugh. She attended UNCC and then worked as a bookkeeper but also worked as a chemical technician. Her great joy was her many Yorkshire Terriers. She bred them and showed them. To her credit, she had 4 champion Yorkshire Terriers. She was also active in the community by volunteering at the crisis pregnancy center for many years. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and also as a woman who navigated life with dignity and strength.

Lilli Woerner leaves behind a legacy of commitment to the Lord,underscored by love and dedication. Her memory will be treasured, and her presence deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.
