Lolo Allen Dobson, Sr.

Lolo A. Dobson, Sr., 96, of Concord, NC passed away at his home February 13, 2022. He was born in Statesville, NC on April 14, 1925 to Joseph Samuel Dobson and Laurah Grace Hill Dobson.
Lolo graduated from NC State University in 1950 with a degree in crop science after his service in the US Army at the end of WWII. He was a charter member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Delta Epsilon Chapter at NC State. He married his childhood sweetheart, Lorraine Robertson Dobson, in 1948 and was married for nearly 70 years until her death in 2018. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Sam Dobson, Adrian Dobson, Shuford Dobson and Laurah Dobson VanPoole.
Lolo had a long career in agriculture growing up on the family farm and living in Wilson, Roanoke Rapids and Raleigh. He served as HR Director for FCX, Inc., getting to know farmers and employees across a number of states. Lolo later became a realtor and real estate company owner in Raleigh and Cary, NC before retiring to Concord. He was an avid rose gardener.
He is survived by his son L. Allen Dobson, Jr. (Martha) of Mt. Pleasant, NC. Grandchildren are Robert Dobson (Angela), Elizabeth Jones (Patrick), and Sara Dobson. Great-grandchildren are Kayleigh, Dawson, Colton and Aurora. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A private graveside service is planned at the historic Snow Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in rural Iredell County.
