Margaret Elizabeth Smith

Margaret Elizabeth Shoe Smith, 85 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Monday, January 12, 2015 at CMC-Northeast. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Thursday, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Michael Johnson; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Smith family will receive friends Thursday, from 12:30-2:00pm at the church. Daughter of the late Adam Shoe and Cora Elizabeth Freeman Shoe, Mrs. Smith was born July 22, 1929 in Cabarrus County. She was a life member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening and canning. She was a people person and loved animals. She was preceded in death by her husband George Smith, a son Gary W. Smith and a sister Dorothy "Dot" Auten. She is survived by a son Harold Smith and wife Susan, daughters, Brenda Gail Smith and Rebecca Honeycutt and husband Boyd, brothers, James Shoe, John Shoe, Reid Shoe and Ray Shoe, sisters, Mary Miller, Myrtle Love, Peg Mullis, and seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
