Marie Wood Creed

Marie Wood Creed,90, formerly of Mount Pleasant, NC died at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehab in Albemarle early Friday morning surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, May 27th at 4PM at Miami Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Howard and Rev. Lewis Whittington officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Creed Family will receive friends from 2:30-4 prior to the service.

Marie was born October 3, 1927 in Wilkes County the daughter of the late James Garfield Wood and late Sarah Burchette Wood. During her life she worked for Cannon Mills and was a member of Miami Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a Godly, faithful mother, grandmother and a special friend to so many. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by husband James M. Creed; brothers, John R, Charles, Von and Rex Wood all of Wilkes County and sisters Clara Dowell, Carolyn Wood, and Dorothy Wood, all of Wilkes County.

Marie is survived by one son, James Darrell Creed (Jane) of Mt Pleasant; granddaughters Shanna Honeycutt and Leslie Creed Burris of Mt Pleasant; great granddaughters Carlie Creed Russell (Devin), Kember Honeycutt, Aimee Honeycutt Smyly(Chris), Cloie Burris; one Great Grandson Jackson Burris; sisters, Betty Jordan of Elkin, and Mary Wood of Winston Salem.
