Marsha Jolley Kirk

Marsha Jolley Kirk, of Christiansburg, VA and originally from Mt. Pleasant, NC, passed away on April 27th, 2025, in Roanoke, VA. She was born on July 11th, 1961, to loving parents Marvin and Martha Kirk. After her school years in Mt. Pleasant, she earned her college degree in Drama at Catawba College in 1983. Her work experiences took her to New York, where she had some acting roles and other jobs. She then moved to Orlando, FL, where she worked at Disney World for over twenty years. Desiring to move closer to home, she spent her last years in Christiansburg where she lived with college friends Kymn and Jeff Hamley and worked in two local businesses.

Marsha is remembered for wonderful traits such as generosity, selflessness, and the ability to love and accept all people. She is survived by her brother, Max Kirk of Mt. Pleasant; stepbrother Gene Kirk (Peggy) and their children Bryan and Ginger all of Badin, NC; sister, Suzanne Gibson (Darrell) of Rutherfordton, NC; her “like-a-sister” niece Shannon Powell (Kevin) of Harrisburg, NC; and nephew Darren Gibson (Betty Ann) of Shelby, NC.

To her other cousins and relatives, she frequently texted or phoned to share and receive family news. Her lifelong friendships were close and meaningful to her; she treasured each unique bond.

A celebration of life service will be held, 3pm, Saturday June 7 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. The Kirk family will receive friends following the service.
