Marvin Edward “Marty” Stallings, Jr., born on May 20, 1960, in Stanly County, North Carolina, passed away on July 2, 2026, in Mount Pleasant. His life, marked by a deep sense of family, commitment, and warmth, leaves a lasting legacy among those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services will be held 3pm Sunday July 5, 2026 at Miami Baptist Church, with Rev. Lewis Whittington officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Stallings family will receive friends from 2-3 prior to the service.
Marty was the cherished husband of Billie Furr Stallings, with whom he built a loving partnership and home for nearly 49 years. He was a devoted father to his son, Jackie Stallings, and to his daughters, Danielle Stallings (Tim Kern), Dawn Bryant (Travis), and Brittany Wilson (Josh). Marty was also a proud grandfather to Timothy Price, Logan Price, Harper Grace Price, Logan Kern, Andrew Bryant, Ava Bryant, and Everette Wilson. His adoration extended to his great-grandchild, Liam Price, each of whom brought joy and pride to his days.
The ties of family were always central in Marty’s life. He is survived by his sisters, Janet Saunders (Randy), Terri Kimsey, and Denise Culp (Larry), all of whom will remember him as a beloved brother. Numerous nieces and nephews were fortunate to have known their uncle Marty, experiencing his kindness and generosity firsthand. His loyal companion Bowser and close friend Jim Linker were also great sources of friendship, further enriching the meaningful relationships that defined his life.
Marty’s roots were shaped by the values handed down from his beloved grandparents, Roy Lee Stallings and Elsie Bell Stallings, who preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his parents, Marvin Edward Stallings, Sr., and Patricia Dunn Stallings. Their memory and the lessons they passed on lived on in Marty’s character and conduct.
Throughout his years, Marty exhibited unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was known for his reliability and the affection he fostered among relatives and friends. Those who spent time with Marty appreciated his ability to bring people together, extending warmth and good humor into every gathering. His legacy endures in the traditions he established, the support he provided, and the example he set for generations to come.
As Marvin Edward Stallings, Jr.'s loved ones reflect upon his life, they do so with gratitude for the time shared, the bonds formed, and the memories created. Marty’s spirit continues to inspire and uplift all who were touched by his life.
