Mary Frances Harris

Mary Frances Cody Harris, 100, lately of Thetford House in Alexandria, VA, passed away March 4, 2016. She was born in Stanly County, NC on June 13, 1915, to the late Pierce Monroe Cody and Gracie Hatley Cody. Mrs. Harris lived in Alexandria, VA and was in banking. She was predeceased in death by her son, Joseph David Harris, Jr. in 2012, and her grandson, Joshua Harris; three sisters, Myrtle Cody Allen, Jewel Cody Medlin, and Lucille Cody Nance, and by two brothers, Wilbert Cody and Rev. Ray Cody. She is survived by a great granddaughter, Taylor Harris, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, March 8, 2015, at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Albemarle, NC, where at the time of her death, she was the oldest member. The Rev. Steve Coats will officiate the 11:00 service at the Cody family plot. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 20987 Hwy 73, Albemarle, NC 28001
