Matilda Rose Misenheimer Heintz passed away August 9, 2026 at her home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Cold Springs Methodist Church, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, NC with Pastors Cliff Wall and Neill Shaw officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Krimminger Hall at Cold Springs Methodist Church.
Matilda,“Tillie” was born on July 17, 1942 in Cabarrus County. Her parents were Alvin and Eula Almond Misenheimer. Tillie was a lifelong member of Cold Springs Methodist Church. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1960. After attending business school, she worked in the insurance industry for many years and as an administrative assistant with Hospice of Cabarrus County. Tillie enjoyed sharing her talents in cooking and baking with friends and family. She made many wedding cakes that were known to be beautiful and delicious.
Tillie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Larry Heintz; her daughter, Selwyn Shaw and her husband Neill; her son, Jeff Heintz; grandchildren, John Heintz (Madison), Jacob Heintz, Bethany Harner (Austin), Benjamin Shaw; 7 great grandchildren; and brother Aaron Misenheimer (Patsy). She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Giles Misenheimer and a grandchild, Aurora.
Memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
