Melvin Orvil Whitley

Melvin Orvil Whitley, 86 of Concord, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Brian Center, Concord.

Graveside service will be 1:00pm Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00pm prior to the graveside service.

Melvin was born October 1, 1930 in Stanly County son of the late Farrell Whitley and Zora Whitley Maness. He was retired from Cannon Mills and enjoyed spending time at flea markets.

He is survived by a brother David Maness, Sr. and wife Annie of Concord and a nephew, David Maness, Jr. of Concord.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Brian Center for their care during Melvin's declining health.
