Nancy Jolene Chitwood

Nancy “Nan” Jolene Bunting Chitwood, 60, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

She was born in Poquoson, Virginia. Nan attended Virginia Wesleyn College in Virginia Beach.  Nan had various jobs throughout her life, but her most rewarding job was pet sitting.

Nan was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Robert “Bobby” Chitwood; her parents, Miriam and Bill Bunting.  She is survived by her siblings, Juliette “Julie” Mitchell (Alan), William “Joe” Bunting (Candi) and Andrea Holder (Tommy); her Father in Law, Carl Chitwood and her Sister in Law, Shelley Chitwood.

The family appreciates all the love, care and services provided by Concord Place Senior Center and Memory Care.

Nan will be interred at a later date in the Smith Family Cemetery in Poquoson.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the local SPCA.
