Richard A. Crayton

Richard A. Crayton 63 of Concord passed away Thursday March 17th 2016 after a period of declining health. Funeral Service will be 4:00pm Monday March 21st at Gordon Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Thomas Gibbs will officiate, burial will follow at Mission Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday March 20th from 5-7 at Gordon Funeral Home. Richard was born in Cabarrus County on April 27th 1952 to the late Richard Crayton and Flora Harvell Crayton. He was the youngest of seventeen children and the seventh son. He was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He worked as a drywall hanger for many years; he also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and collecting arrowheads. Playing pool and cards were also some of his favorite activities. Richard is survived by his son Richard A. Crayton III and fiancé Kenndel Rogers, his son's mother Monica Little Crayton, a brother Charles M. Crayton and a sister Virginia Crayton Linker.
