Ronald Lee Smith,72, of Stanfield, NC, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at Novant Presbyterian Hospital’s Harris Hospice Unit.
Ronald’s life will be celebrated 9:30am Thursday at St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Locust Presbyterian Church cemetery, the family will greet friends following the graveside service.
A Cabarrus County native, Ronald was born to Robert Lee Smith and Carrie Louise Freeman Smith. A college graduate, his career was in retail merchandising distribution, and he was employed by Shoe Show for more than 37 years. Ronald served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
An avid Duke fan, Ronald loved watching sports of all kinds and working in the yard. Equally, he enjoyed cooking and baking and time at the beach with his family. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a spiritual man who loved church and singing hymns.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ann of the home; a daughter, Kerri Smith Clontz; a brother, Robert Eugene Smith (Elizabeth); and one grandson, Ryan Keith Clontz.
