Rose Adelaide Smith

Rose (Rosie) Adelaide Killian Smith, 75 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, May 21, at CHS-Northeast following a brief illness. By her side was her loving husband of 51 years Archie Smith and their son Eric Smith of Mountain City, TN.

Rosie was born in Cabarrus County daughter of the late James B. Killian and Janie Tomberlin Killian. She graduated Concord High School in 1960, received her Bachelor's degree from the Women's College, Greensboro in 1964 and her Master's degree from Appalachian State University in 1968.

In addition to her husband and son, Rosie is survived by a sister Jane K. Edge (John) of Oak Island and a nephew Jay Edge (Kasandra) and their son Kyote of Wilmington.

Rosie loved her extended family, she enjoyed an eclectic group of friends and she loved her cats.

Memorial service will be Wednesday at 2:00PM at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, 8559 Cook St. Mt. Pleasant NC 28124. Officiated by Rev. Steve Ayers.

In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to the Mt. Pleasant Food Ministry or the Cabarrus County Animal Rescue.
