Sue Vernina Boger Archer, 84, of Rockwell passed away on November 7, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus. She was born on August 5, 1942, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina.
A visitation will be held on November 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Grace Lower Stone Church, 2410 Lower Stone Church Road, Rockwell, North Carolina 28138. Sue lived a life of service, faith, and quiet creativity. Early in life, she worked as a teacher. For the majority of her working years, she was dedicated to serving as the director for the Centralina Council on Aging, a role that reflected her care for others and her steady commitment to her community.
She also found joy in many personal interests. Sue was a talented quilt maker, and she was an avid photographer and bird watcher. These gifts and interests brought beauty to her life and to the lives of those around her. She was a member of Grace Lower Stone Church and also served as a member of the handbell choir, where her faith and fellowship were an important part of her life.
One of the great blessings of Sue’s life was the time she shared with her beloved husband, Richard. Together, they made many fond memories traveling, and those times remained especially meaningful.
Sue is survived by her husband, Richard Archer. She is also survived by her brother, Otis Aubrey Boger Jr., and his wife, Judy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Otis Aubrey Boger Sr. and Pauline Myers Boger, and by her brother, Ronnie Lynn Boger. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
