Teresa Powell Worley

Teresa Powell Worley, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Concord, NC. She was born on July 21, 1961, in Wayne County, NC. Teresa's life was marked by her nurturing spirit and her passion for creating beauty in the world around her, particularly through her love of flowers and maintaining a beautiful yard.

She leaves behind cherished family members who will forever hold her memories close to their hearts. Teresa is survived by her daughter, Chelsea Brooke Preddy (Gordon) and step-daughter Angela Alverez (Tim); her brother, Robert Powell (Kay); and her adored grandchildren: Palmer, Deacon, and Saylor Preddy, Kyle, Kameron, and Kasey Lee; special brother in law, Ronnie Carter.

Teresa reunites in eternal peace with her beloved husband, David Rickey Worley, and her parents, James Robert Powell, Jr. and Mavis Arlene Bell Powell. She is also preceded in death by her brother, James Samuel Powell, and her sister, Mary Frances Powell Carter. The bond they shared during their lives endures in the love she bestowed upon her family.

The family will receive friends from 6-7pm Tuesday January 6th at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Services will continue on Wednesday January 7, with a visitation from 1-3 and funeral service at 3pm at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3888 US-70, Goldsboro NC 27530, officiated by Rev. Earl Bradshaw. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Evergreen.
