Vera Auten

Mrs. Vera Aileen Allman Auten, 82 formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at CMC-Northeast. The family will receive friends from 3-4:30pm Thursday followed by a memorial service at 4:30pm at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Auten was born September 4, 1928 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late William Lewis Allman, Sr. and Annie Isabelle Fletcher Allman. She had worked for Cannon Mills and as a beautician and was a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Auten. She is survived by her daughter Janet Fisher and husband Richard, and granddaughter Amanda A. Fisher. The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Andrews Living Center where she was a residence and CMC-Northeast for their care during Mrs. Auten's declining health.
